Ya know, I think we did it to him as well.  I know there was a physics teacher who we tormented too.  He closed his eyes when he addressed the class and I'm pretty sure he taught in Wilson. Wasn't Mr. Kammerman at NE?  I think in the year book, he was posed pouring liquid out of a beaker.
I remembered my 5th grade teacher...Mrs. Simon.  It just came to me when I wasn't trying to remember.
See you soon!  Only 3 months and 9 days til the reunion!
Janet

Could you be referring to our absent minded chemistry teacher, Mr. Morton Kammerman?

What was the name of the teacher who looked like Walter Mathau's grandfather?  We used to bounce rubber stoppers in his room when he turned around to write something on the board.
We were bad.

Wow, I am really enjoying reading these posts, so I guess I should just take a deep breath and join in.  I went to Moore and had some great and some terrifying teachers.  Did anyone else have K-Mrs. Weiss, 2- Mrs. Wexler, 3- Mrs. Sheidloff (not sure of spelling, but this is how sounded).  She taught her class Russian, after we giggled at the Spanish program another 3rd grade class was doing in assembly.  An amazing, warm, and talented teacher, she ordered Russian primers and we soaked the language up like sponges.  Probably the best and kindest teachers I had in all of my years in the Philadelphia schools.  Finally, 6th grade--Mrs. Jackson--up there with the most cruel and terrifying.  I'll move on to Fels and Northeast later.

Hello Pete,

I tried to email you from the Reunion website but I'm not too sure if it went through.  This is to inform you that my husband, ROBERT J. LIBBY, died from lung cancer on August 7, 2001.  He is survived by his wife, Patty and two children, Bobby and Allison.

Thank you and I hope the Reunion is a success - have one for Bob!

Sincerely,
Patty Libby

Nancy, We had the same teaschers except for kindergarten (I had Mrs. Edelman or Adelman) and I had Mrs. Graham for first grade otherwise we were together all through Spruance. My wife and I are very close with Cheryl (Rotenberg) Rosen (Mark from '68) as well as our children being very close. I saw Gary Krause (aka GK) back in the early 90s and have lost touch. Looking forward to seeing and getting together with whomever at the reunion as well as other venues.  Cheers,    Bruce Goldberg

Comments made in the year 1955!
That's only 54 years ago!

'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $10.00.

'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $1,000.00 will only buy a used one.

'If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. 20 cents a pack is ridiculous..

'Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter
.

'If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.

'When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.

'I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more Ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND, it seems every new movie has either HELL or DAMN in it.

'I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas .

'Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President..

'I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They are even making electric typewriters now..

'It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet.

'It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work.

'I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business.

'Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes.. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government.

'The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.

'There is no sense going
on short trips anymore for a weekend, it costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel.

'No one can afford to be sick anymore, at $15.00 a day in the hospital, it's too rich for my blood.'

'If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a hair cut, forget it.'
